Skittles Fractions!
In Miss Bailey's maths class we have been learning about finding the fraction of a number, yesterday we used skittles to practise this.

We adopted a Turbo!
Yesterday we had a visit from Travis Taylor, Bulls School's adopted Turbo.
He joined us in some fitness and then talked about why he likes representing the Turbos. We asked him some curly questions and he answered them all well.
Here are some photo's..

Tessellation Art
In maths we have been learning about geometry - shape and space. Check out our tessellations we have created from our own puzzle pieces. We had to translate our shape for our pattern to tessellate. We made sure that the shape did not overlap and that there were no gaps.

Similes
In Room 4 we have been learning about similes and how they can add detail to our writing. These are a few examples we wrote this morning. Keep an eye out of our "Super Me" poems!
“The fireworks at the Olympic Games sounded as loud as a volcano erupting”.
“The Russian gymnast looked like a fish out of water as she flipped across the mat.”

Geometry
In Mrs Morris' maths class we have been learning about shape and space. We have learnt that:
- tranSLate means to sLide
- roTAte means to Turn Around
- reFLect means to FLip
We have been creating our own tessellations and learnt that a tessellating pattern cannot have any gaps or overlaps. Today we looked at reflectional symmetry. We were told we had to use a ruler to show the line of symmetry and create a picture/patttern out of the geometric shapes using reflectional symmetry.
